A karaoke mixer is placed between the karaoke player and amplifier in the connection process. A karaoke mixer is needed when your player or amplifier doesn't have a microphone input or when you want to mix sound from multiple sources. The mixer "mixes" in the sound from the microphone or other source with the music from the player. In addition, most mixers include a number of additional features such as key control, vocal cancel, echo, etc. that can really take your karaoke system to the next level.
